HIPWC NewsReduced Fees announced for Renewal Memberships(January 2010) The Committee are pleased to announce that the proposal to reduce renewal fees tabled at the AGM in October 2009 was passed. This means that for any member who was fully paid up for 2009 membership fees can apply for the new reduced 2010 membership renewal fee of £25 per ski. New memberships remain at £35 per ski. The Club committee has issed the following comment: "This reduction in membership fees for renewing members is to encourage and reward those members who have supported their Club, so that they continue their membership into the new season. Members should also find the reduced premium a help in these uncertain economic times." Re-election of Committee Members (January 2010) The existing 2009 Club Committee was re-elected at the October 2009 AGM for the 2010 season. Mike Faria (Chairman), Steve Laming (Treasurer), David Jones (Secretary) and David Young (Events Marshall) were all democratically re-elected with no new nominations received from any proposing members. The Club Chairman has issued the following comment: "The new 2010 season looks to be a challenge with the economic recession tightening its grip. This will undoubtedly put extra pressure on the Club in terms of people having the level of disposable income available to continue their participation in the sport. having said that we are committed to ensuring the continued success of the club and we will be looking at innovative ways in which we can maintain our membership and continue our Club ethos." Online Payment facility to be continued into 2010 (January 2010) The Club Commitee is pleased to announce that due to the success of the Online payment function, that this service will be continued in the 2010 season. Online applications will be opened later in January 2010. The Club committee has issued the following comment: "The success of this facility greatly helps the administrative burden of processing applications and payments and therefore benefits the club. We hope that the membership find the facility useful and we encourage all our members to use the online application due to its speed and ease of use."
